Middle East School II (ME2) is responsible for conducting Modern Standard Arabic (MSA) language instruction to assigned military personnel from both the Cryptological Training System (CTS) and the General Intelligence Training System (GITS) of the four military services. We also teach languages to civilian students from the Department of Defense and from other U.S. government agencies such as the Federal Bureau of Investigation. ME2 conducts resident training for basic courses only, indicated below by their course code designator and length. For Intermediate, Advanced, Sustainment, and Refresher courses* see box at right.

Middle East 1 | Middle East 3

Intermediate, Advanced, Sustainment, and Refresher courses are now taught under the supervision of the School for Continuing Education (SCE).

ME2 also supports the School of Continuing Ed. (SCE) by providing language instructors to meet Mobile Training Team (MTT) requirements submitted by military units, as well as by participating in programs in distance learning, e.g., video-teletraining (VTT).
