About the DLI Alumni Association 

October 2001 - The Association is founded by Professor Ben De La Selva (president), and Army Captain Arthur Douglas (treasurer), later joined by Maj Shawn Cardella (secretary). Provisional Webpage was published.

Professor Ben De La Selva was Dean, European and Latin American School. He attended DLI in 1965-66 (French) and 1967-68 (Polish) with a Vietnam tour in between. Ben served with the 173rd Airborne Brigade (Sep) in 1966-67 as a POW Interrogator. You can contact him at: President, DLIAA.

Captain Arthur Douglas was the Chief of the Defense Military Pay Office at DLIFLC & POM. After that, he attended the Conversational Japanese course and the Mandarin Chinese course at DLI during 2001-2002.

Maj Shawn Cardella was the Associate Dean, European and Latin American School. Maj Cardella is a graduate of the Korean Basic Course.
